A simple routine, done properly.
Five steps, morning and night. Simple, with no faff.
Before you begin: patch test
Apply a small amount to the inside of your elbow. Wait 24 hours. Only start if the area looks and feels completely normal, with no redness or itching.
Cleanse and dry
Start with clean, dry skin: hands, arms, neck, décolletage, or face, wherever you're applying.
Take a small amount
A little goes a long way. Warm it briefly between your fingers before applying.
Smooth it over each area
Gentle, even strokes. It sinks in quickly, so there's no need to rub hard or wait around before getting dressed.
Let it absorb
Give it a minute before dressing or applying anything else on top.
Repeat morning and night
Same routine, twice a day. Consistency is what does the work.
Gradual, not overnight.
In our 8-week consumer trial, women reported skin feeling smoother and softer to the touch, with the change building gradually over consistent use: a cumulative routine, not a quick fix.
The practical details.
Where it fits in your routine
It goes on after cleansing, before anything heavier. It can replace your usual moisturiser on these areas, or go underneath it if you prefer.
A few things to avoid
- Broken, cracked, sunburnt or already irritated skin. Wait until the area has settled.
- The eye area itself. Around the eye socket is fine, on the lid or lash line is not.
- Layering it on the same area as a prescription retinoid on the same day, unless your GP or dermatologist has said otherwise.
- If you stop for a few months and then start again, patch test once more before you do.
- If any redness, itching or stinging develops at any point, stop using it and speak to your GP or pharmacist.
Storing it, and how long it lasts
Keep the tube somewhere cool and dry, out of direct sunlight. A bathroom shelf is fine, a sunny windowsill is not. Close the cap properly after each use.
The symbol on your carton tells you how long it stays at its best once opened.
12M means 12 months after openingWhat's actually happening, explained plainly.
Bidens Pilosa is a flowering plant. Its extract, the ingredient this cream is built around, is recognised in cosmetic science as a humectant and skin-conditioning ingredient. Here's what's believed to happen once it becomes part of your routine.
A hydration layer, straight away
The cream sits on the skin's surface, where hyaluronic acid (a naturally occurring molecule able to hold many times its own weight in water) draws moisture in. That's the comfort you feel almost immediately: a calmer, better hydrated surface, not something happening deep beneath it.
Why change takes weeks, not days
Skin naturally renews itself in cycles of several weeks, as older surface cells are gradually replaced by newer ones. That's part of why skincare changes are rarely instant: it takes consistent use for anything to show on the surface. Bidens Pilosa also contains a plant compound called phytol, which converts to phytanic acid, a molecule structurally similar to compounds found in retinoids. Some researchers believe it may interact with a few of the same skin processes retinoids do, though this is still being studied and hasn't been independently confirmed in human skin. It's why we call Bidens Pilosa a retinol alternative, not a copy of it.
In an 8-week user trial, 20 women used the cream every morning and night. 95% felt noticeably more hydrated skin, and 85% noticed smoother-looking skin, within that period.

The supporting cast keeps working alongside it
Vitamins C and E are antioxidants that help offset everyday environmental exposure, supporting skin that looks brighter and more even over time. Sea buckthorn adds further antioxidant support, alongside plant oils and butters that keep the surface soft and less dry.
By the end of the same 8-week trial, 90% saw an overall improved appearance and 80% noticed a reduced appearance of lines with regular use: hydration, renewal, and antioxidant support, working together rather than any single ingredient doing it all.

Renewal doesn't stop, so the routine doesn't either
Skin keeps renewing itself for as long as you keep the routine going: that's simply how skin works, not a Sorenna-specific effect. It's why this stays a daily habit, the same way cleansing or moisturising your face already is, rather than a course you complete and move on from.
Stats above are from Sorenna's own user trial, not a clinical study. The phytanic-acid mechanism is an active area of research, not an independently confirmed fact. Individual results vary, and this is a gradual routine, not a quick fix.
